What are the implications of the rise of casual and social games on the internet for online gaming and everyday life?

this is the first assignment question. no. i haven't started the assignment yet.
it is not a question of being a bad person. i have been putting it off. i had thought to do the school work during my annual leave.

How far would a partner/spouse have to go online before it is considered cheating? Up to what point is flirting online acceptable? How 'real' is cybersex? Not more than 500 words

DISCUSS

Dating, romance, and intimacy in the context of the Internet, drawing on Pascoe.

The acceptability of online dating amongst your friends and family. Do you know of anyone that's met someone online and then gone on to date them face to face?

cheating as a concept is an interesting and potentially tricky/political.

Select a particular health topic that interests you for any reason (it could be a friend or relative's medical condition, for instance). Find out more about the topic using the Internet. While you are doing this, note down the main ways you'll begin looking and your process of selecting useful sites. How would you say your knowledge of the topic has changed in the course of this research? What are the criteria by which you'd select sites? Finally, briefly describe 2-3 of the most useful sites and Internet applications and the ways in which they'd be useful to people visiting them. Not more than 500 words.

for this topic i'm going to go with EDS or Ehlers-Dahnlos Syndrome. it's something that a friend of mine was born with.
the main ways that i'll be getting more information from the web is the use of google-fu. and no, i'm not actually going to put it that way in my assignment. this is the note-taking and link collecting phase.
i initially couldn't remember how to spell the name of the condition, but i sounded it out and google gave me lots of answers for it.
the first site i picked is a site for/by rheumatologists. http://rheumatology.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/collection/mobile_joint_syndrome
interestingly, it was third on the list when i searched "dahnlos", but isn't on the first page of a search under "ehlers danlos".
http://edsaus.ning.com/ is a support group site, which i feel is important.

this needs to be a short (500 words) essay thing. can i do this?

i'm going to use this space as my uni blog page...because i can. also because it's divorced/separate from my real/main blog over at lj.

my aim then is to update this site more often. it'll probably be mostly a reflection of what lectures or discussions that i've had.
to make it more easily digestible :D

last night i went through the course outline and listened to a couple of older lectures for the subjects that i'm in. i also was on skype for a couple of hours chatting to other students...that was fun.
i also set up an rss feed reader for the first time...yay! i feel accomplished. i did it myself and then i "talked" someone else through it.
there are a couple of knitting blogs that i n0w follow too...suprised? ;)

all in all, my first uni experience is good. i am pretty confident (so far).
